Kaimata Retreat (Dunedin)

Price from £198 per room per night

Situated on 5 acres of coastal land and overlooking a special waterscape, this boutique eco-lodge is built with macrocarpa timber harvested from the property and is architecturally designed to reflect a love of organic harmony.

Hotel Facilities

The interior is divided into two buildings; one comprises of two stylish suites and a guest laundry while the other has one suite and a large open plan dining, lounge and kitchen area. A private path winds to a grassy knoll by the water's edge and a peaceful sandy cove. Wander along the shore and watch the clear waters swirl by, take out the kayak or try the dingy for a gentle row around the bay.

Room Facilities

Each of the three rooms has been named after a visiting bird, Kotare the Kingfisher, Kahu the Australasian Harrier Haw and Korimako the Bellbird. All are north-facing with deck access. The rooms are intimately sized, each with a sitting area for two people, waffle cotton robes and fresh flowers. Ensuites feature high pressure showers, heated towel rails, mirror demisters, spa towels, luxury New Zealand marine based toiletries and handmade soap. All day tea, coffee, fresh fruit and homemade treats are available from the retreat kitchen. The Kotare Room has coastal water views, while the Kahu Room offers panoramic estuary views. The Korimako Room has French doors facing the courtyard, with an outside deck offering casual seating for two people
