Set amidst a landscape of erupting geothermal activity, hot thermal springs and hot bubbling mud pools is the living Maori village of Whakarewarewa. Discover a unique lifestyle and traditions as you join a guided tour to see the wonders of Mother Nature and learn how local Maori have come to live in harmony within this unique environment. Sit down and relax at a cultural performance while the locals entertain and thrill your senses through the medium of performing arts. Melodious voices accompanied by hand movements tell the stories of their heritage, both past and present. Whakarewarewa is an active geothermal area and it is recommended that visitors stick to designated pathways and listen to the advice given by the guides and written on the maps provided. A private guided tour is available for additional costs. Tour concludes at clients’ discretion, at Whakarewarewa Thermal Village.
