Day 1: Arrive Auckland ( NM)
Collect your car on arrival from Budget and drive to the Langham Hotel. Remainder of day free to explore Auckland.
2 nights: Langham Hotel, Auckland.  Room only

Day 2: Auckland (NM)
At leisure in Auckland. You may like to take a cruise on the harbour, shop in Parnell, visit Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World or just explore the Viaduct Harbour at your leisure.

Day 3: Auckland - Coromandel Peninsula (154 kms/96 miles - 3 hours) (NM)
The hotel is conveniently located near the motorway. Travel south through the Bombay Hills to Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula, then cross to the east coast town of Whangamata with its fabulous beaches.
2 nights: 970 Lonely Bay, Coromandel - Bed & Breakfast

Day 4: Coromandel Peninsula (B)
A free day to discover this beautiful area, characterised by its dramatic coastal scenery, native rainforest and idyllic sandy beaches. You may like to visit Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove or enjoy a full day's guided activities with Kiwi Dundee.

Day 5: Coromandel Peninsula - Rotorua (175 kms/109 miles - 2½ hours) (B)
Travel through Waihi to the seaside town of Tauranga and Te Puke, where kiwi fruit is grown. Continue on to Rotorua, the thermal wonderland and centre of Maori Culture.
2 nights: The Springs, Rotorua - Bed & Breakfast

Day 6: Rotorua (B)
A free day to explore Rotorua. Visit Te Puia and the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, the Agrodome or enjoy a scenic flight. Tonight you might like to enjoy a cultural show and hangi feast.

Day 7: Rotorua - Bay of Islands (454 kms/282 miles - 8 hours) (B)
Travel through the lush Waikato farmland to Cambridge and continue north to Auckland. Cross the Auckland Harbour Bridge and follow the east coast Pacific Ocean Drive to Paihia in the Bay of Islands.
3 nights: Paihia Beach Resort & Spa, Paihia - Bed & Breakfast

Days 8 & 9: Bay of Islands (B)
Two free days to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. Take a tour to Cape Reinga, a cruise to the Hole in the Rock or visit the historic Waitangi Treaty House.

Day 10: Bay of Island - Auckland (219 kms/136 miles 3 hours) (B)
Depart Paihia and take the scenic drive across to the West Coast through Opononi and into the Waipoua Kauri Forest Reserve. Stop at the Matakohe Kauri Museum before continuing on to Auckland for your last night.
Overnight: The Langham, Auckland - Room only

Day 11: Depart Auckland (B)
A free day before returning your rental car to the airport and departing Auckland on your onward flight.
