This option includes 5 days car rental with Hertz Australia (ICAR - Toyota Corolla Ascent or similar), 4 nights accommodation, meals indicated and daily driving notes. Price includes car pick up from downtown depot - supplements may apply from airport. A one way fee of AU$110 is payable locally for rentals of less than 7 days.

Day 1: Melbourne to Mornington Peninsula (NM)
Take the Nepean Highway from Melbourne and drive south towards the Mornington Peninsula. From the Mornington turnoff the road follows the coastline and offers spectacular bay views.
Overnight: Woodman Estate, Mornington Peninsula
Day 2: Mornington Peninsula to Apollo Bay (B)
Drive to Sorrento to catch the car ferry across to Queenscliff. From Geelong it is just a short drive to Torquay and the start of the Great Ocean Road. Pass through Anglesea and Lorne to Apollo Bay, watching the increasingly dramatic contrast between rugged coast and inland forest.
Overnight: Captain’s at the Bay, Apollo Bay
Day 3: Apollo Bay to Port Fairy (B)
Continue your drive along the Great Ocean Road through the Otway National Park and enjoy a self-guided rainforest walk. From Lavers Hill onward the road traces limestone cliffs along the Shipwreck Coast and the natural monuments of the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge form a stunning panorama. From Warrnambool it is just a short drive to Port Fairy.
Overnight: Oscars Waterfront Boutique Hotel, Port Fairy
Day 4: Port Fairy to the Grampians (B)
Depart Port Fairy and head north through prime sheep grazing country to the Grampians National Park. Halls Gap is an ideal base for bushwalking and discovering native animals in their natural habitat.
Overnight: Marwood, Halls Gap
Day 5: Grampians to Adelaide (B)
From Halls Gap head north-west to Horsham and continue on to the South Australian border. Approach Adelaide via Murray Bridge and the Adelaide Hills.
