Hooker Valley Guided Walk

Full Day including Lunch

Price from £67 per person

An Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Village Ltd vehicle will pick you up from The Hermitage Activities Desk at The Hermitage Hotel,  Aoraki Mount Cook Village, Mount Cook National Park for your transfer to the White Horse Hill camping ground, the departure point of your tour. At 9.00am join your guide to commence a full day Hooker Valley Guided Walk that provides breathtaking views of some of New Zealand's highest and most enthralling peaks. Enjoy a stunning 4 kilometre (2.5 mile) trek along a well-maintained track to the terminal lake of the Hooker Glacier. The journey encompasses an Alpine Memorial and passes over the turbulent Hooker River by Swing Bridge, to unsurpassed vistas of Aoraki/Mount Cook's south face and the surrounding glaciers. Your guide will point out the unique features of this alpine world as you enjoy lunch in the shadow of New Zealand and Oceania's highest peak, standing at 3,754 metres before returning along the same track. The surface of the track is smooth for most of the walk, though some walking over rocks is required. The optional bush walks range in distance and gradient - your guide will suggest a suitable track.
