Bay of Islands Ipipiri Overnight Cruise

2days / 1night

Price from £444 per person

Ipipiri is a 44 metre, four-deck catamaran with a spacious sundeck, a 70-seat restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining and a bar and two levels of sleeping cabins. Ipipiri gently cruises at 12 knots around the Bay of Islands as an afternoon tea assortment of freshly baked muffins and coffee/tea is served. The tour includes full commentary on the history, environment and some of the Bay of Islands most spectacular landmarks. From Kupe, the very first voyager, and Maori who discovered New Zealand over 1,000 years ago, to the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840, Northland brings together the unique culture and history of the original Maori and European settlers of New Zealand. With some of the warmest waters in New Zealand the Bay of Islands is home to an abundance of marine life including dolphins, whales, seals and penguins. When the ship anchors at sea, the onboard tender (small run-about) will ferry passengers to and from nearby islands to enjoy activities like snorkelling, swimming and kayaking.

The crew will help visitors with local information and provide interpretation on the many legends and stories unique to the area. From 7.30pm - 9.00pm a buffet dinner is served, after which passengers can relax, unwind, view the stars and take in the stillness of staying overnight on a luxury catamaran anchored in a sheltered bay. Accommodation is in one of 30 identical ocean view cabins, spread over two decks. All ocean view cabins include full sized ensuites and sea views so that passengers can watch the sun rise and set from the privacy of their cabins.

DAY 2
Upon waking the next morning, breakfast is served in The Dining Room from 7.30am and at 9.00am Ipipiri departs the sheltered bays for the cruise back to Opua. Cruise concludes at approximately 10.00am, back at Opua Wharf and a coach transfer then takes passengers back to the Maritime Building in Paihia, where the tour concludes.

The vessel offers 30 identical queen sized state rooms with full sized ensuites across two decks. All cabins have identical panoramic windows for full external viewing. Each deck has a forward viewing area available to all cabins.

Price above is for double room.
