The Overland commenced service in 1887, pioneering inter-capital rail travel between Melbourne and Adelaide. The name was derived from the affectionate term ‘Overlander’, an adventurer who had travelled across the country. With new levels of comfort and refurbished facilities, this historic train continues to provide a relaxing way to travel between the 2 cosmopolitan cities during daylight hours, passing through ever changing countryside.
Red Service: features comfortable reclining seats offering 49 cm pitch between seats, pay as you go bar and access to Cafe Carriage. Seating 2 and 2 - 60 in carriage.
Red Premium Service features comfortable reclining seats with a 67 cm pitch for greater personal space, complimentary orange juice/water upon boarding and priority luggage handling. Meals and snacks can be purchased from the licensed Café Carriage or trolley service. Seating 2 and 1 - 36 in carriage.
